I’m Kevin Garcia de Paz, the person who researches and writes BackupPowerPlain.
What I do here
I read the manuals, spec sheets and official safety guidance that most buyers never have time for, and turn them into plain guides with the numbers shown: sizing examples, installed cost ranges and fuel use per day. I also build the site’s calculators.
What I am not
I am not an electrician, a generator dealer or an installer, and I don’t sell generators. That is exactly why I don’t have a brand to push. For anything that involves your electrical panel or gas line, I’ll always tell you to hire a licensed professional.
How I work
- Every figure links to the source it comes from.
- Every guide shows the date it was last verified.
- When readers or professionals point out a mistake, I correct it and update the date.
Where I’m based
I live in Spain and write for homeowners in the United States, where home generators, outages and local codes are the focus of this site.
