- Generator installation and transfer switches must be installed by a licensed electrician and, for gas connections, a qualified plumber or gas fitter, with the permits your jurisdiction requires.

- Never connect a generator to your home wiring by plugging it into an outlet (“backfeeding”). It can electrocute utility workers and neighbors.
